About Scammer Guardian
Scammer Guardian is the world's first AI built specifically to intercept and screen phone scams before they reach a senior's phone. Founded in 2025 in Ohio, the company is on a mission to make it operationally impossible for scammers to reach elderly Americans by phone. The product launched on iPhone and Android in early 2026.
Why we built this
Every two seconds, a scammer dials an American senior. In 2024, Americans over 60 lost $4.9 billion to phone fraud, and the FBI considers that an undercount, because most victims are too embarrassed to report it.
The existing tools are not built for this. Carrier spam protection, Nomorobo, RoboKiller, and Truecaller all do roughly the same thing: maintain a database of known scam numbers and label or block calls from those numbers. That works for robocalls. It does not work for the scams that actually steal money from seniors.
The scams that steal money are run by live humans with fresh phone numbers using emotional manipulation. The grandparent scam ("Grandma, I'm in jail and need bail money"). The IRS impersonation ("You owe back taxes and the police are on the way unless you pay now"). The Microsoft tech support scam ("Your computer is infected, give us remote access"). The romance scam first call. None of these can be stopped by a number blocklist. All of them can be stopped by an AI that talks to the caller before the phone ever rings.
That is what Scammer Guardian does.
Our mission
Make it operationally impossible for scammers to reach American seniors by phone.
We measure this in dollars not stolen. Every blocked grandparent scam is $9,000 (the average loss). Every blocked tech support scam is $1,800. Every blocked romance scam first call is the prevention of a months-long extraction that often runs into six figures.
If we do our job right, the entire phone scam economy targeting seniors collapses because the calls don't connect anymore.
How we do it
Scammer Guardian uses a conversational AI (built on OpenAI's GPT-4o) to answer every unknown call to a protected senior's phone. The AI asks the caller to identify themselves, listens to the response, and decides in 2-3 seconds whether to connect the call or block it.
The AI cannot be sweet-talked, pressured, or fooled. It catches the warning signs of every major scam pattern. Real callers like a doctor's office, a delivery driver, or a grandchild calling from a new number are connected through naturally. Scammers are blocked silently and the senior's adult-child guardian gets an instant alert.
The AI runs on top of a senior's existing phone, existing carrier, and existing phone number. Nothing about their experience changes, except the scammers stop reaching them.
Who we serve
- Adult children of aging parents who are worried about phone scams. (This is most of our customer base. The buyer is usually 35–55, the protected person is usually 65+.)
- Seniors who set up Scammer Guardian for themselves after being scammed or after a near-miss.
- Credit unions and community banks protecting their elderly members from elder financial exploitation.
- Assisted living and independent living facilities protecting residents and reducing family liability.
- Area Agencies on Aging, elder law attorneys, and elder fraud advocacy groups who deploy or recommend Scammer Guardian as part of broader elder protection programs.
Where we are based
Scammer Guardian LLC is an Ohio company. Our small team works remotely across the United States. We have an Ohio Vendor's License (#31-002037) and operate under Ohio commercial law.
How we are funded
Scammer Guardian is currently bootstrapped and revenue-funded. We are evaluating a seed round in late 2026 with AgeTech-focused investors (AARP Innovation Labs, Primetime Partners) and strategic investors in insurance and telecom, specifically partners aligned with our mission to reduce elder fraud.
We are not VC-funded yet, which is intentional: we want to prove product-market fit and a path to scale before raising. We are open to early conversations with mission-aligned investors. Contact founders@scammerguardian.com.
What we will not do
- We will not sell, share, or license caller or call data to anyone.
- We will not run ads on our service.
- We will not introduce a free, ad-supported tier that compromises screening accuracy.
- We will not raise pricing on existing customers without 60 days notice.
- We will not lock customers into annual contracts.
These are commitments we make to our customers because the population we serve has been burned by enough predatory subscription practices.
