Resident Phone Scam Protection for Assisted Living
Scammer Guardian protects assisted living and independent living residents from phone scams that target their savings, dignity, and family relationships. Per-seat pricing starts at $12/month. Deployment is handled by our success team, with no additional burden on facility staff. Adult children of residents become engaged guardians, increasing facility satisfaction.
Why facilities deploy Scammer Guardian
Resident phone scam exposure is a quiet but escalating problem in assisted living and independent living facilities:
- Resident financial harm. A single grandparent scam can drain a resident's discretionary account or trigger a family financial crisis.
- Family complaints and liability concerns. Adult children expect facilities to provide a safe environment. A successful scam against a resident frequently triggers difficult conversations with family.
- Resident dignity. Repeat scam calls (even unsuccessful ones) are psychologically harmful. Residents who are scammed often withdraw socially and become reluctant to use the phone for legitimate purposes.
- Marketing differentiation. "We deploy AI scam protection to every resident" is a concrete, demonstrable family-facing benefit that differentiates from facilities that don't.
The Executive Director and Director of Sales typically share these concerns. Most facilities have some program in place, like staff training, posted scam warnings, or family newsletters, but these are reactive. Scammer Guardian is the only solution that prevents scam calls from reaching the resident's phone in the first place.
How facility deployment works
We handle deployment so it does not add to facility staff workload:
Phase 1: Resident enrollment. Scammer Guardian success team coordinates with families directly. Adult children sign up as guardians. Facility provides resident phone information and family contacts (with appropriate consent and compliance with facility privacy policies).
Phase 2: Setup. Our team conducts setup remotely or onsite. For residents with smartphones, this is a 5-minute setup. For residents on facility-provided lines or landlines, the landline product (in development for late 2026) will eventually serve this need; in the meantime, smartphone-based deployment is what's available.
Phase 3: Ongoing protection. AI screening runs invisibly. Family guardians get guardian alerts and weekly reports. Facility receives an aggregated quarterly report (no PII) showing scam attempts blocked, common patterns, and resident outcomes.
Phase 4: Family communication. Scammer Guardian provides facility-co-branded materials for family newsletters and resident handbook inclusion.

ROI for facilities
The hard-dollar ROI is mixed for facilities (since the resident or family typically benefits financially). The compelling case is around:
- Family satisfaction. Surveys consistently show family members rank "protection from scams" among their top concerns. Deploying Scammer Guardian is a concrete, demonstrable answer.
- Reduced family complaints and difficult conversations about post-scam recovery.
- Marketing differentiation at the sales tour: "we provide AI scam protection to every resident."
- Insurance and risk reduction. Preventing resident exploitation reduces facility liability exposure.
Facilities that have piloted with us report family NPS lift in the 5–15 point range, which is meaningful in a category where family satisfaction is a major referral driver.

Frequently asked
Does deployment require resident consent?
Yes. We typically work with the family member who has phone-related decision authority (often POA holder). Resident consent is incorporated where appropriate.
Can the facility be the guardian (instead of family)?
Yes: we support facility-as-guardian models for residents without engaged family. Reports route to facility staff (typically resident services).
What about residents who don't have smartphones?
Our current product supports smartphones (iPhone, Android). Many independent-living residents have smartphones; assisted-living residents are mixed. Our landline product (in development for late 2026) will extend to non-smartphone residents.
Do you train facility staff?
Yes. We provide a 30-minute staff training session at deployment, plus quarterly check-ins. We also provide materials staff can use during family tours and resident orientations.
Is this disruptive for residents?
No. After the one-time setup, the resident's phone behaves exactly as it always has. The only difference is the calls they no longer receive.
